Composed to pay tribute to the thirty-year anniversary of the Symphonic Orchestra "Città Di Grosseto", and to the great Giacomo Puccini, whose centenary of death is celebrated, The main theme of HOMAGE 24 derives from the 3 initial letters Città Di Grosseto: C-D-G (which in Anglo-Saxon musical notation correspond to the notes DO-RE-SOL), and which is also inspired by the themes of the great Giacomo Puccini. At the beginning of the piece, each section opening of the orchestra is preceded by a roller of tympani, which enunciates the three “musical letters” DO-RE-SOL: this cell is then used as an “incipit” of the main theme, entrusted first to the strings, then enlarged to all the instruments. 'On this theme later, references to some of the most famous puccinian arias are a counterpoint: ''They call me Mimì', ''And they lucevan the stars', ''A beautiful day we will see'', 'Mario, Mario', ''No sleeps'', ''In those soft trines''.' With 'Homage 24' the Orchestra Città Di Grosseto celebrates, therefore, its thirty-year anniversary by paying tribute to the great Giacomo Puccini.
